1) It was brought to my attention that a few users have been posting as different users, mainly to promote products. You should only have and need one username. In most cases the IP address is stored for each user at each login and I have had the capability to look this info up. I have programmed the forum so your IP address will appear above your username on the right of each post. Please let me know if you see 2 users logged in with the same IP address as I don't have time to check this.
UPDATED: Your IP address does not give any information out about you. It only states your general location, for example "Southern California" and the ISP that you use. I am not sure how else to police users who sign up with 2 different usernames to slam other people, create scams and promote products/ services. Since some are unhappy I have decided to program it so only Les and I see your IP addresses posted.
2) About a year ago I programmed 2 form fields during registration, asking for your first and last name. I did this to try to stop spam registrations. I check every registration manually and that is the first flag of a spammer (If they put in a bogus name). Anyway it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to post the first and last name by the post so we know how to address each other in PM's etc. So I have programmed your name to be by the IP address. Your name will not be there if you signed up before I added this functionality. If you wish to update your name or add your name it can be done in your control panel (control panel > profile> name is at bottom).
UPDATED: I am getting bad feedback on posting your name too so I am removing it from the posts.
3) A few months ago I was asked to created a new theme with a white or light background as some of the older members could not see on the dark background. Stay tuned as this is almost completed. Once I have finished you will be able to switch between dark/ light backgrounds from within the control panel.
