Matchless G15 Project

Looking good.

I'd like that little 4 cylinder to power a generator/welder/A/C / battery charger (mini power station for the home)

Set up the carb for natural gas and pipe it right in...

It is a motor and transmission unit for a Mini Moke. I built it as a spare for a friend of mine. More progress shots are coming.

FYI
The same all alloy engines used in the Hillman Imp was used inside the UK fire engines to power that vehicle’s water pump :!:

The Coventry Climax!

Sunbeam/Hillman used the little one (SOHC 875cc)

Many early Lotus cars used the SOHC 1098cc four, and the GP cars used the 1.5 liter V8

Here are a few more shots, the last two with a Harley Sportster seat just to fill the space.

Mini engines weren't all alloy though ? !!
The Imp was (completely) different.

Nice progress Dave.
What is that front wheel though ?

Thanks Rohan,

The front wheel is a BSA unit that came with the Featherbed rolling chassis that I bought last year. I put it on there just to facilitate moving the bike around and have since rebuilt an original Norton wheel and fitted a Commando TLS brake backing plate. I actually had the bike fired up today although it didn't run for long due to a sticky float valve but I am very pleased to have progressed so far during this trip.

I leave the US on Wednesday and dont expect to return until perhaps Easter next year when I should be able to ride the machine.
