madass 140 I really like your set up! Do you have one that would work with my MKIII ?

You may or may not know that a Triumph T140 E master cylinder goes straight onto the switchgear of a Mk 3 Commando, this is what I've done on the mk 3 Commandos I have owned, it improves (to me anyway) the feel of the brake and they are a reasonable cost.

Bwolfie.

It's not that m/cyl, they are for earlier disc Triumphs. The T140 E m/cyl has a flat back to match up with the mk 3 switch cluster, and an alloy brake lever.

seems like the T140E is the one for the MKlll but I'm guessing it still has a 5/8 bore which isnt going to improve braking, or am I missing somethin

Seez made by LF Harris. Wonder if thats are being made, or were being made.
If currently being made, could presumeably be altered to smaller diam, if not already.

Looks rather plasticy...

A google shows LF Harris, 2009, RIP.
Sorry Les, missed that, travel well.
Single handedly kept the Triumph name going through some tough times...

Correct. LF Harris is deceased , but the company is still going.

I don't know the piston diameter, the first time I used one of the T140 E master cyls it was because I was going a long distance on my Mk 3 and the original master cyl chose that moment to start leaking badly, so a buddy lent me the one off his Bonnie. I liked the feel of the brake a lot more so since then I have replaced the cyls with the T140 E type.

5/8" normally, although 17mm 'twin disc' cylinders are available.

You might find that you like a (12mm-13mm) master cylinder giving a more suitable hydraulic ratio even better?

That's very possible , I've never tried one.
I use the T140 E cyl in conjunction with an RGM 12 floating disc and Lockheed alloy caliper on the front, and a Lockheed on the back. I'm happy with the braking system in this guise. I hate riding bikes with crap brakes, but accept I choose an expensive way to improve them.
thanks
