As I have already posted I have recently bought a 2017 registered Commando 961 Sport Mk2. It does have ABS however I'm wondering how I can tell when it was actually built - my reason for this is I understood that from 2016 onwards the crankcase ventilation kit was standard however mine doesn't appear to have one! It is a EURO 4 bike with the canister beneath the swing arm but it's always nice to know when the bike is built and what spec it would have been.

Do you mean crank case ventilation kit, or transmission vent kit?

Pictures will clarify immediately what you have / don’t have...

Check the data plate on the steering head. It includes date of manufacture. At least it does on mine.

I guess I actually meant transmission vent kit! Not sure how I Can if upload pictures to here so I will have a look and see if there any FAQ's on that. From the look of the VIN it does look as if this would have been manufactured in 2017 based on other VIN's in the register and when they were built! Hopefully it will be back with me tomorrow after it's visit to the dealer to have a running issue sorted - apparently fixed by new spark plugs but we will see...

The euro 4 anniversary models I saw in November 2017 at the factory had the transmission vent fitted , so bit strange your euro 4 hasn’t,I would estimate the earliest they fitted them as standard on new bikes was April 2017 & not b4, unless someone knows any different!
