I got an exchange rewound armature from Dragonfly, for a magdyno MO1L unfortunately They sent me an incorrectly packaged armature that was from a MN or MS1 I'm not sure , so this had the incorrect end cap for the points end ,so they sent me out another but unfortunately it didn't have the parts in the recess i:e the old condenser frame/holder, and that bit has the insulated threaded boss , that's what the centre bolt on the point screw into , all would have been easy if the recesses were the same but they were completely different, and i didn't want to break the potted capacitors on the bakerlite , so I've emailed Draganfly twice , no reply , great .very disappointing, the correct condenser apparently is a 464161 , not common ,i will have to buy an old armature to get one , I don't know what I've got , but i had to bite the bullet and make it fit for now , hopefully it will work, and to all the magneto experts can someone advise on the wire that goes into the slip ring boss, should i measure the depth or the hole and trim the wire , say 1-2mm long to to provide some preload or good contact for that HT wire , and when i warm up the slip ring and fit it ,i could just bow the wire down a bit , is this the correct way ? . Any help appreciated. Cheers

Cannot be any help at all sorry. But have you ever seen this series of articles on Britbike forum. The best I have ever seen on mags.

Evidently the author is an American physics professor and very keen bike restorer.

Hi I found they have a small hole going down on an angle , tricky though . I've just made mandrels and fitted new insulators and bearings, the Magneto guys website is a big help . Cheers
