Magnet on the oil drain plug.

This is one of those questions that is allmost to dumb to ask but it's better to ask a dumb question then to do a dumb thing. I lost my old magnetic drain plug when I packed all my stuff to move So I got a new one from Fred & Ella @ the fabulouse Old Britts. Thing is the Magnet seems super long to me. It's a touch over 9/16" long & I don't remember them like that. Is that normal & safe???

IIRC, my magnet protrudes about 1/2". Stick a plastic pen in there and roll the engine over to ease your mind. You should be fine.
