Does anyone have a suggestion for a machine shop that can do a big valve conversion? James is the best god bless him but he is so swamped.
George , no one knows your approximate location in the U.S.A.
I can recommend Gord Bush Performance here in Toronto , Canada if you choose to cross or ship across the border.
Tomorrow I pick up from his shop a rebore fit for the new short Wiseco pistons and an 850 head with new exh. valve guides and re - cut seats to fit the new (supplied ) Black Diamond valves.
Gord Bush Performance , 49 Fima Cres. Etobicoke.

I'm in California, at this point I don't care where I ship it.

I just had my head rebuilt by Engine Dynamics in Petaluma. Got it back within 3 weeks and the work was superb.

I've had head and barrels done by Engine Dynamics. A first class machine shop specializing in small engine
(motorcycles and airplanes) top end work. +++++

Call Memphis Motor Werks and see if Leo Goff is still working there. He's one of the best.

There is a big difference between cylinder head rebuilding (guides and cutting seats) cylinder boring and a 'big valve conversion.

There is a reason JC was overloaded with work not only national but from folk all around the world.
Maybe he could have lowered the passion to help, doubled the charge out rate and dropped to four days a week with a ride to the Bahama's once a year.

George, we replied to your email to try Leif Lewis. He's one of the best at building heads

I talked to Leif, what a world of knowledge, thank you for the introduction. James sent me some pictures of my head in process so I'm going to let him finish up. I do plan on using Leif for other stuff James is not taking on right now. Again thanks.

Yes, Leif is great at what he does.

Fantastic.
I can say it was a privilege to have JC work his magic on one of my bikes.

I hope he and family are good and the current world situation (or some other health issue) has not had a bearing on his absence.
It might be noted (afaik) JC only works on Norton (heads for decades) and knows what to look out for regarding that casting and any pitfalls of modifications (even the interference fit at the guides to avoid cracking)
No offence to the link but I see a lot of Triumph parts.

We work on Nortons and were the one who referred him so we know what he works on. He is some we use for service which is why we referred the OP to him
