Hi folks!
I am about to restore the rear lamp housing of my 1970 Commando.
The laminated front screw nut housing is broken off. There is a recess fo a nut moulded in the fibreglass.
Are there three 1/4 inch screws or is it one single 5/16 srew and two 1/4 fixing screw ?
I want to laminate in a new nut. When I put in a 1/4 nut the recess is too big. Or did they use special nuts?

I have just been repairing the same type of housing for my 1970 Commando where the bridge has two standard 1/4 nuts bonded in. The rear independent fixing is 5/16 though.
Make sure that you leave enough depth in the hole to accept the bolt.
I repaired the housing using two part Araldite and fibreglass matting cut into fine strips which has produced a perfect bond.
Regards, Paul.

My efforts so far.
I guess these holes should be closed at the bottom?
They are for fixing the light assembly.

The rear nut is laminated into the housing.
