Hi, can someone please tell me if the Lucas horn/dip switch fitted to my 1962 Model 50 is attached to the handlebars that have threaded holes where the switch secured

That is correct I beleive the thread into the handlebar maybe 2BA, I have the same setup on my '57 ES2, '66 650SS & Atlas.

Hi Possm, would you be able to send me a photo' of the switches location on the handlebar please David
 
If you have access to "Norton Twin Restoration" by Roy Bacon there are some good period photos on pages 182-186 otherwise I will get a photo and pm it to you when I can get to the garage.
