I have pressed out the bushes from my wideline featherbed swingarm . There were three spanning the length of the pivot axis. Andover parts list says two are required with a spacer tube between. Am I correct in assuming that only two are now required with the spacer between ? Certainly easier to install than three . Thoughts on this ?? Thanks

I used to make "kits" with sintered bronze bushings, internally shouldered on the outside ends to accommodate o-rings, then with sintered bronze thrust washers on each end as well. Drill a hole and tap similar to the Commando, for oiling. Then, replace the wimpy swingarm bolt with a 3/4" steel shaft with security plates on each end. 100% non-compliant swingarm.

Perhaps there are some who consider the Rubberlastics part of the Featherbed's superior handling, but I don't think this distracts one bit.

I sold at least 2 dozen of those kits.

"Bunting bearings" should be easy enough to find. Speedy Metals for the spindle & plate materials. Fastenal for the hardware.

Only the outer Silentbloc bushes would probably do anything, but two on the drive side might help. My featherbed only had two. I did not replace them with bronze bushes, but I was told the difference can be felt. The Featherbed frame is far more twitchy than a Seeley. I could ride my Triton 500 fast, but never as fast as my Seeley 850. When I ride, I like to be able to be heavy-handed. With the Featherbed, I needed to be much more careful.
