Long pipes

To me the sound of the bike is a very important thing. I simply can't ride a bike if the engine or transmission is making as much noise as the exhaust. Of course quality is just as important as quantity! :D

Yeah, such a difference! Got to admit I was embarrassed of the non-existent exhaust sound before. I was at a big bike show last weekend and admirers of the bike kept asking me to start it up to hear it and I felt I needed to apologize and say each time "I ordered new pipes that will be here soon". A guy next to me revved his bike with super loud pipes as I was revving mine and made everyone laugh including me. Totally put mine to shame...

But the NEW pipes, though still not super loud (good), is exactly what I wanted. The bike now has just the right blend of engine and exhaust noise, and more importantly I really feel the extra torque. The pipes were well worth the money, easy to install, and I only wish I had done it sooner.

Sounds Infinitely better. I don't think the recording does it justice. Could just be the recording, but I have the Southbay DS catless pipes (X pipe) and if the recording is fairly accurate, the DS have a deeper throatier sound. Honestly though, I think its probably the recording and it would sound much deeper live.

The recording shows a big improvement, but yes it sounded much better and bigger in real life. I had my camera's mic preamps way too quiet and had to boost up the volume afterwards so the resolution was not what it should have been since it was recorded so quiet (AND I RUN AN AUDIO RECORDING STUDIO FOR A LIVING)! Shame on me! It was a quick test and I didn't want to keep switching the pipes back and forth to do the test over again...
