I have just cancelled our ongoing Sat. morning coffee meets for local members of our Duc Club .... I think we have 5 confirmed cases in our small province of less than I million folks .... am I jumping the gun or being wise .... basically made decision based on my own situation , I’m a senior with smoking addiction so , figured I’m staying away from crowds , left the option for others to keep it going in meantime , while I’m home huddled in my shop ...

Prudence- when I was a kid I had three glorious weeks offschool with chickenpox. Nowadays you would just get sent and that is the problem with this virus... People are not public minded and it is why contagions spread

Probably for the best. I, too, am at risk (age and healthwise).

Yeah guys, please stay inside if you can, avoid people if possible. You made the right call Craig.

Too many folks are not taking this seriously and it will be reflected in the mortality rate. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

If you gotta go out, go out on your Norton and enjoy the empty roads.

Just to make things worse personally we were notified our tickets to see James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt , for first of May have been cancelled , we also have tickets for ZZ Top later in May no doubt we will be notified sooner that is a no go as well , got to see JT and CK couple years back b in Toronto , but was pumped to see ZZ in person , been a fan of Billy G. since eliminator came out ....

Be sure to get a Shingles vaccine jab if not done! I had a bout of that two years ago and wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

I can only fear so much .... good advice though , my wife has had the shingles couple times last couple years , first time the needle was in time and saved a breakout , second which supposedly shouldn’t have happened because of first needle was a milder version to what some family and friends have suffered with , figure since I haven’t had it yet , good to go ...

Shingles comes from re-emergence of Chickpox laying dormant within your body. It is normally suppressed by your immune system, but in times of stress, as we age etc the immune suppression came deminish and it surfaces.

Bad news about your gigs... and my sympathies...

Our annual NOCNZ rally is scheduled for this weekend. Given that NZ has done from 8 up to about 28 confirmed cases in the last week or so, and being diabetic puts me in the compromised risk category, I have bailed on going.

That said, I went to take off my pannier rack, which uses a 9/16 nyloc nut in place of the knurled seat stay knob. Now I can't find where I put said knob. I am losing my mind.

I'm steering clear of crowds also. Just can't avoid store trips though.... From what I see here the stores are jammed all day with folks buying everything in sight. They buy stuff which is never bought just to beat others to it I believe.... So much so I'll wager there'll be late payments in abundance in the future. Politicians and the media have really stoked up a full blown panic.
Common sense is the key.

Folks around here are starting to purchase and hoard ammo , I visited local range this morning and they say ammo is hard to get , even at the big retailers , the fear of Everyman for himself seems to be feeding this , maybe the media should tone things down and maybe start talking bout the success of slowing the spread of this virus , that story isn’t getting much airtime .... I sure hope it doesn’t come down to shooting .... too much gun violence on TV and big screen , not to make any one worry though ....

What slowing down? There are 10 times more infected in the US today than there were last week.

I say the billionaires in the world ought to be thinking of how to save the goose that lays the golden eggs instead of pumping it for one more golden egg.

Canada is slightly larger (I think) than USA and with maybe a tenth of the USA population , plus we very spread out , seems like things here while not reaching peak 'spread rate' yet ,just might be slower spread than other more densely populated Countries ... our roads and streets are virtually deserted .... most things closed so no where to go anyways ....in another couple weeks if weather continues to warm and no backward days , I may be out practicing physical distancing on 2 wheels !

My appointments at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota have been canceled. I miss going to a restaurant. I miss not having the NBA games to watch. Major League Baseball was to open in lees than 2 weeks. No Formula 1. Life is drastically altered from what it was even a month ago.

I been retired since Aug 2005 and I worried 'bout my kids jobs , our oldest, Brenna just took out a business loan to expand her self-employed business she is scrambling , our Ian is red seal auto tech. working at small shop in big dealership organization to support his wife ,a doctoral student and their 7 yr old son Max .... so I can and do empathize with ya' Pete , sure hope you get back to work soonest ....
