Hi All-

I would like to fit a dual front brake system on my MKIII. I am searching for a matching pair of lower fork sliders, or a left side slider that matches the stock right slider.

I am located in Wisconsin, USA

Thank you!!!

IMHO Norton should have used the PR brake system instead of that big lump they introduced as a front disk on the 72 Combat and older Commando road bikes. If you want it period correct, I would just invest in a single Production Racer disk, caliper/slider setup. You can get the carrier for the 5 stud front wheel hub. Why would you want two of those big lumps of stock caliper hanging off the front axle slider that was made for the street bikes? Talk to Fullauto he did this PR setup to his ride.
Cheers,
Tom

I wasn’t looking to use the stock calipers. I am looking for a fork lower slider for the left side that is a match for the right side as used on a ‘74 MKII, and allows for the mounting of the caliper behind both forks. I was then planning to utilize AP Lockheed calipers and produce my own adapter plates.

I also understand the issues of weight, etc. Its just what I want to use, so I was hoping someone had that part, or perhaps parts, and would be willing to sell them. That simple.

Thanks again to all for any feedback.

Tom

Thanks for the tip regarding Norman White. Unfortunately he no longer manufactures the twin disc set up as he prepares to retire. A very nice man, I wish I had ordered sooner.

This should get you all the brakes you need in today's traffic.
Here is a disk adapter to use your existing front hub and some of the parts needed

You can make your own adapter for the slider or just get a PR slider
a 13mm bore M/C would work excellent with this setup. I would PM fullauto and get his input. I did. I have this setup but for the PR 6 hole hub and PR slider. I haven't installed it on a bike yet, so I can't give you any input but Ken has.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Cheesehead
I only know of Norman casting up another fork leg to make up a twin disc set up although these were for 4 pot calipers.
If not it's a new twin disc hub Discs & a pair of Norvil fork legs. RGM did a hub so you can use standard Commando discs

Thanks Chris!

With the CMA cast wheels that I have I the bike, I have the room in the hub area foe the twin disc set up. My main concern is finding a left side fork slider that would allow me to mount the caliper behind the slider. I may have found one. Please let me know if you think that RGM may have one of these. I didn’t see one on their website, but perhaps I missed it.

Ask @madass140

Thanks for the tip! I had run it by him recently and he no longer offers a dual disc kit. He does offer a very nice right side brake set up at a very reasonable cost, however.
