Left side footrest mounting

The left footrest lower mounting stud is used to support a bracket for the brake switch wire. What hardware do you guys use to mount the bracket such that it doesn't get deformed?

I use a thick enough washer first to bring the bracket high enough to not get deformed from the casting of the footrest ,then the bracket ,then thinner washer followed my blue loctited nut. Use a flat bladed screwdriver between the bracket and the primary to give no contact as the bracket likes to turn towards the primary case when tightening of the nut.
