OK Can you link me a source for a flasher? No, the OEM flasher is a bi-metal type of flasher unit, and requires a considerable amount of electical load to operate.
#2…OK Can you link me a source for a flasher?
You can get a LED compatible 2 wire flasher at most auto parts stores. You will need to rewire your indicator lamp with diodes (the tweaker mentioned above) else all 4 lights will blink.OK Can you link me a source for a flasher?
DUH!
Probably. If the terminals B and L are for battery and lights, just reverse them for positive ground.
So, where is the OEM flasher located?Probably. If the terminals B and L are for battery and lights, just reverse them for positive ground.
On the rear gusset plate. So, where is the OEM flasher located?
Enlighten me please. Under the seat?On the rear gusset plate.
Yup. On the back gusset plate. The '74 should be mounted on the front side of it next to the rectifier.Enlighten me please. Under the seat?
Lift off seat. Gusset is the plate between battery box and rear mudguard/fender. Flasher is a small rectangular box clipped to Fender side of gusset.Enlighten me please. Under the seat?
Which rather negates the whole reason for using LED's.Just to clarify, the stock flasher can work with led lamps IF you add resistors to the circuit. Then the flasher will see suitable load sufficient to heat the bimetallic strip to toggle on and off.
On a 74 MKII it'll be on the front side.Flasher is a small rectangular box clipped to Fender side of gusset.
One tip for leds, you need the same colour led as the lens you intend to put over it. This is because leds emit a narrower range of light colours, so a white led used in an amber or red lens will not be making a very bright lamp appearance. So order ambers for turns, reds for brake etcc. Will the OEM flasher work with these LED indicator lights?

Well not entirely, they are more reliable and brighter etc.Which rather negates the whole reason for using LED's.
I seem to recall mine was on rear side, but it was dead so immediately replaced with modern round one.On a 74 MKII it'll be on the front side.
