After calling around along the eastern states for the recommended 6203TB.P63
I got sticker shock. Again I'm not into over engineering this bike.
I just want it safe. The orig bearing lasted 37 years so far.
Are ther any other alternative deep grooved ball bearings I can use.
Is it better to use steel or brass caged in the trans?
I know the engine bearings come in brass cages but we don't use EP gear oil in the engine.
Will the EP fluids affect brass?
Sorry to put everyone back at square one again but $260.00 is a little outrageous for a bearing.
Thanks
Marshal

Have you tried Miller Bearing? I can't imagine a bearing they don't have.

You'd better hurry. In the time it took you to post the bearing went up $54.

Jim,
I'll have to try Millers.
Theres got to be a simple deep groove ball that will handle leisure riding? :?

Call any of the British parts supliers...that bearing shouldn't be more than $40.
Heck, CNW has it posted on thier website for $36.95.

I don't think I have paid more than 40 bucks for the roller bearing. Jim

The most I have paid is $36 Canadian. They must have accidently priced out a set of superblends also.Just kidding.

Old Britts shows the roller version at $59, and they're usually higher than most.

Try dropping the P63 on the end of the number as I was told that is a real high tolerance bearing and it is the TB cage you are after.

Alternatively, order (by phone or fax) the 6203TB bearing from Mick Hemmings. I don't know what his current price for the bearing is, as his catalogue prices are bit out of date, but it used to cost £23.50 GBP (no VAT to add on for customers outside the EU) and it isn't in his Andover Norton parts price list.

Thanks for the additional help
I didn't know the TB suffix was another bearing as opposed to the TB P63
but one bearing manufacture did say it was a special application hence the P63.
I just need a bearing that goes round and round w/o coming apart :(
