Great to see Kenny Cummings at the Empire Rally, and then meet him at "garage 11" at the Mid Ohio VMD races. Got to see part of Kenny's interview with ... I think it was "Cafe Racer Magazine" too. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) as well as his race in heat 8 at about 2:40 PM on Sunday. The guys sharing the garage were super also; allowed me in to take all the pics I wanted. Watching the vintage races was great too, and think I could get addicted easy. Anyway, just some pics of what it looked like. Cheers all.

Any juicy action reports? Who placed where?

Brand rivalry? bumping & highsides? Rev limiter bragging? Harley XRs on the track? Wild rides with stuck open throttles (I have one of those stories).

Please feed the bench racers.

I've been asking around and haven't heard any results yet (I'm not on the WERA boards)

Hey All,

I took 3rd both days. Got beat by a blasted .... *Tr**mph... Ryan Ambrose riding Big D's bike. The dude was fearless and very talented, and I'm humbled. In 2nd was Jeff Peters on his beautiful Rickman CR750. Great racers they are, and make me happy to have kept them in sight. I was reeling Peters in on Sunday, but the race was shortened to 4 laps and I didn't have enough time to get it done. It was hot as can be, and just coming in unscathed in that heat gave all the racers a sense of accomplishment.

Speaking of heat; how about that Empire State Rally? I couldn't believe how hot it was up there in the Catskill Mountains. But it sure was good to hang out with a lot of folks from this board whose names and faces have now come together. I've not been to a rally in 12 years (Virginia), and I was long overdue. I got to shoot the breeze with a lot of good folks. Thankfully when the sun was highest I was able to go for a swim or I wouldn't have made it much longer.

And finally, yes that is Cafe Racer TV doing a piece on me and a Seeley I've built for a customer. They've been filming me on and off for the last 6 months. I've seen a couple of this 2nd season's episodes and it appears they have listened to the general public; there will still be junkyark builds of Viragos with clip-ons, but they have also done some great stuff on some of the real players from the Rockers movement, as well as more techy/geeky stuff on building up "fast" bikes, both street and racing - the kind of stuff the original season missed and the kind of stuff we all like to see.
Just remember the camera adds 10 pounds and 10 years.
