Just made to 30,000 miles & all ok , & tbh it has been for last 3& half years, factory service at 16k & 20k , SB from at Motorvated at 25k , in that time just tyres & a recent fuse prob to the alternator, oh & a fork seal , all inexpensive serviceable items , so no reason these bikes can’t keep going , my biggy issue was with the broken clutch spring at 16k which damaged balence shaft & few bits in gearbox .
So have these bikes regularly serviced , do the Bosch bits & jobs a good un , 800 miles since Thursday.
Ta ra for now

Awesome to see that! Unlucky with the clutch spring I guess as that isn’t very common. Without that you’ve had a virtually trouble free ownership! Unfortunately not the same for everyone. That said, my riding buddy’s Ducati V4S has spent several months that I know of in the local dealer and is still waiting for a new dash. If you want 100% reliability, I guess you have to buy a Honda!

Brilliant news - makes a nice change from all the random faults we usually see on the forum. Just goes to show that the basic design is (mostly) potentially sound if only the part/assembly process had been more tightly controlled. With all that expensive test equipment and production sampling procedures at the new factory maybe be could have reliable 961s rolling out?

Well 30,000 miles & NOT ok atm now , heard a bit of a splutter & popping noise/different exhaust note & didn’t take me long to see the problem
Just hit 30,000 miles & all ok

The demon itself ‘vibration‘! Sorry to see that Blighty, but easily fixed. Weld up, bolt up and motor on!

Looks like one of the silencer bolts fell out, overloading the remaining mount which then failed, and the leverage caused the pipe to break (which looks like it was repaired before). Maybe it would be worth welding on a triangular gusset over that collector joint? Presumably the silencer needs a bit of repair as well ?

Well done, shame about the exhaust! I am pushing 20K on 2017 ABS Mk11, only just stopped using oil so just run in! Usual problems ie coil/battery mount! and noisy/viby etc, but still love it, this winter plan to upgrade to Bosch stuff and nail the primary noise!

Get some better ear plugs! (Ha). Renew the spring and set it up carefully, use V Twin oil, and if that doesn't work just live with it! Did think about complete strip to balance crank etc, but now I am de-sensitised to the vibration I may just live with it!
