Came across this today...a Norton JPN build from BritIron Classics planning to use a SmartCarb in place of traditional carbs.

The SC claims to offer an improved carb performance over older designs. Only one fuel port, no jets, semi-circular cross section "needle" and easy quick adjustments on fuel mix/idle. Automatic air density compensation. Flat side throttle. Initially developed for smaller 2-stroke bikes, has been used on a Ducatti 1000 race bike by this same team, so will be interesting to see how it performs on a Norton.

Anyone know if those SmartCarbs are really worth the effort?
Edit: what I mean is, if it doesn't rely on jets then it must rely on multiple other inputs (RPM, throttle position, atmospheric pressure, blah, blah (to quote Greta sad-face))
Is that a carburation world we, as happy dinosaurs, would wish to entertain?
I would need some convincing!

Ugly but interesting

A colleague has one fitted on a Yamaha Moto cross bike ... i love the option to have coloured float bowl
He claims better MPG more power There are no jets in the carbs and on the surface pretty simple to dial in ... But there not cheap.
