He hasn't picked it up yet so pics when you get it home, well maybe a good ride first, then pics, welcome, one rule I have is if its running great leave it alone, if its playing up then fix it, keep the maintenance up regularly and pat it on the tank and thank it when you get home safe from all rides as these bikes have a solo and they like to be rode, if you let them sit to long they will wet sump and leave a puddle, if you look after them they are very reliable, good luck and enjoy your new life as a Norton owner.

Seoulsearcher, As you can tell, lots of experts and guidance on how and when in here.

What state are you in?

And if you happened to have taken a couple of shots with your phone or have a pic from an ad you purchased from post it up if you get a chance. Photographic info can really be helpful in analysis and progress.
Its really cool when it finally shows up.
Good luck with your Norton.

Enough He's chewing in the bait, Saturday we'll have him hooked THEN we can tell him the bad stuff LOL

Waiting on pics, sure there will be years of enjoyment!

If its been done right and by the sound of it, it has so he should be all good for some happy miles on it and they can be a everyday rider as long as the maintenance is kept up on it and fix things before they break when worn, I am sure he will have a big smile on his dial when he takes it out for the first time, I know I still do and been riding mine for over 46 years now.

I've been entertaining owning an old british bike for a while now. Always went back and forth on Triumph or Norton and finally decided to pull the trigger on a 1975 Norton MK3. Super excited to pick it up this Saturday and was hoping to receive any advice on what to know on owning one of these fantastic bikes. Thanks in advance everyone!

Did you pick it up?

Thank you for the warm welcoming! Here's a pic f the bike the day I made the deal. starts right up on first kick and the electric start actually works! the right exhaust smokes a little after riding a bit and then waiting at a light at idle so have to look into that. Rear brakes are basically non-existence but the owner said it needs to be bleeded. Any specific shop manual I should look into buying?

Looks like you made a great purchase! Beside this forum , join a local Norton Owners Group they're a great local bunch of guys!

Welcome and congratulations Seoulshakers. I'm sure you'll enjoy the rides - the ones on the bike and the ownership experience. When I signed up for AccessNorton and posted the same "I just bought my first Norton" message, one of the replies was "Welcome to the club. We recommend the following hand cleaners..... " Still makes me chuckle. Oh, and I recommend the big container of Tub O' Towels in the shop, and Lava soap in the bathroom. You'll use them both.

One good thing from this pandemic is that it introduced me to using nitrile gloves. Much less washing and scrubbing of the hands.
