bought my 1st norton commando friday, a '72 roadster. from what i can tell it doesn't need much; front brake work and new exhaust pipes, wiring sorted out.
bought my second norton today, a markii roadster. this is in pieces and sans fuel tank but it's all there and ran when it was last whole. traded an ar-15 and taurus .22mag for the whole lot.
factoring in what the guns were worth i got both bikes for 4000. i plan to get the 750 running and roadworthy in time to take advantage of the warm weather and next fall bring both bikes down to the basement workshop and cobble together the 850. this summer i'll get it sorted out and painted and redo the mechanicals next winter. that's the plan anyway.
excitement abounds! i'm allowing myself an extra ration of home brewed barley pop tonight!!!!!
