Boots should fit...AN or RGM or Norvil vernier kits as there are no differences AFAIK in the metal parts....it just seems to be the rubber bushes/dampers that are of different hardness levels (in my experience AN seem to be correct firmness, more like running shoe soles, while another seller's were like hockey pucks).
Are we talking front or rear covers ? Renew the front ones , leave the rear without them . Spray both setups with Silicone spray regularly at the PTFE washers .

The boots on my replacement boots started cracking within a month of installation and I was nice to them when I put them in.

Agreed.....A parts dealer down here openly warns folk that "some" of the rubber parts hes being supplied are complete shit that quickly deteriorate/ fail....
RGM's gaiters will be their own "Genuine Parts" as the Andover Norton logo isn't on the page.
The AN gaiters I fitted more than 3 years ago when I replaced the Isos. are still as good with no splits or cracking.

I treat most any rubber component to be used before installing. If it's poor quality the preservative/treatment doesn't help.
If it is of decent quality then a preservative seems to make a difference.
I just get hacked off paying premium price for sub-par quality and the mfg. knows it. Be it a rubber ISO cover or a grade 5 bolt in the brake pedal linkage.

Think all have got caught with not what we paid for , I remember a set of gaiters from reputable supplier failed on bike over winter in heated shed , before I ever took a ride … still get steamed thinking of that …

I've had the same issue with iso boots, fork scraper sleeves and replica John Bull cable ties - all fell apart within months of fitting.
They came from a couple of sources, but probably all from the same ultimate source.
Some aftermarket stuff is OK, but this stuff was just junk. One fork sleeve actually flipped over on itself and jammed the forks, whereas the last ones at least had the decency to just fall apart and drop off by themselves!
