I have been on this forum a few years, and one thing that concerns me {a bit] is the fact that members can Post issues with products without taking up the problem with the vender/supplier first...OK we are all human and mishaps can happen..but pointing the "ugly stick" in public is just not on..if the vender gets stroppy ..then yes give him shit...but if he as no chance to put things right behind the public window first..please dont...
I was reading about the Fullauto valve guide-seal posting...i considered Ken was not getting the chance to "put the baby to bed"
This Forum it a world window , and negitve responce's should be carefully considered before posting here. I hope our VIP members keep this in check.

I dont think that will happen soon.... Me for one if i get crap service or products from a vendor i feel burnt and the first-second impression thingy leave me no choice but to tell the world sometimes...

Im not a very forgiving type.... "you wont hit/burn me twice"

I agree that sometimes I think we should be a bit more sure of the facts before we post. Some of the complaints I've seen were a bit unreasonable. The one that always gets me is buying a new 21st century ignition system and putting it into a 40 year old wiring system and then complaining it doesn't work.

Having said that, badly made parts are a different story. Some of the stainless bits I've bought were so far out it was laughable.

As i have said, check the facts with the vender, i say vender because some times the manufacture will not speak english..there is a well established supplier here in the UK, that gave me shite ,when i complained "his" which really arn't "his" parts are rubbish, I received the most stupid reply, which was "are you trying to tell me my job..sonny ,i have been selling Fork parts for over 40 years!" Which made me think was he retailing parts from india via wassels 40 years ago?! What a Knob to say that? I'v had some classic questions ,sometimes just to stupid ..and even the wife laughs .
My all time classic.
Dear John [thats me]
"I have fitted you Commando dampers and there is a 8 mm gap under the top nut, is that right? "
My responce "yes, thats where your alloy clock/taco pod fits " reply "O" thanks, i forget about them"........ God help us! it all endded well!

You may think that John, its not quite true, even if in broad terms you may have a point.

Facts are: I was in contact with Kenny, Angie and Mick outside of the open forum....as manufacturer and supplier and between them they are providing a satisfactory solution, even choice.

In the end I should be able to identify all available 0.501" inlet valve guide seal types and fitting methods 8)

It can be said that I was being impatient, and that being in a different location from the head and seal I had too much time to think (worry) about the issue but do nothing constructive. Try it :( .

The point of the original post was perhaps tytpical of how we work these days, seeking instant gratification, in this case rather than contacting the manufacturer/supplier and waiting.....like I said, an excess of time to think about it also contributes...

I did not criticise any actual part, at any point, I wanted to understand if I was doing something wrong and had the right part for my head. I wasn't and didn't.

Remember, I started by asking in essence 'what am I doing wrong here?'....and I invited Kenny to contribute...

Full Auto inlet valve seals...Postby SteveA » Tue Jul 15, 2014 10:28 am
I intend to ask Mick Hemmings who supplied my head, but does anyone have any knowledgeable input (Mr FullAuto?) regarding the installation of the supplied inlet valve seals...

I just dunked them in oil and slipped them over the valve and down on to teh valve guide, but I noticed that they grip the valve stem (Black Diamond) not the valve guide, which is just straight with no grooves to grip seals, so it looks like they will go up and down with the valve? Is this correct or did I miss something?

Lately, It seems like folks sure like to complain about this forum.
Please try to remember - It's motorcycles........... It's supposed to be fun!

How about everybody just lighten up a tad and let LAB and Jerry moderate their forum how they see fit.
They've done a fine job of it so far.

complaining ON the forum?

yeah, its all good and ok

it is often the only way forum members are educated by fellow members

So, Is every thing right now? what happened to make it better?

Supplier and Manufacturer, once they understood the detais of the problem, stepped up to send replacement seals, gratis.

And I said thank you.

As a supplier I have no problems with issues being aired in public as long as it is well founded.

I have always said on here that people should be aware of the quality of the product they buy, but is
not always that easy and some dealers actually have no idea where stuff is made.

I have found this forum entertaining and informative but now I have to go get my bike out for run.

If you own an old British bike you should expect frustration. When I see it expressed on this forum I take it with a grain of salt, however I note what the complaint is really about. Anything which appears here can be helpful. I am continually developing my bike and my approach is that when I find a major problem I engineer my way around it, even if it means a very solid attack on the design. These days I cannot afford a Fullauto head, Jim Schmidt's rods and pistons, or a billet crank - however I love reading about them - even the adverse comments. They give an idea of the limitations.

i think its everyones right to know how someoen does business. its public business. then everyone gets to know. i dont believe everything i hear, on the internet. so what if i heard somethign? maybe you can shutup about your business if you dont like the way we talk about stuff. Cause we don't want to hear about you.

next thing you know you want to be talked about everywhere then. And yoru mouth never quits on anyone talking about you. If something, AND thats a big IF, you done something good, wouldnt you want it out? but seems your more of trying to take over any talking and then SHOWING your ass off. i came here cause i seen serious discussion.

tell us which seller sent you here?

We have politicians who want to sell themselves and control the media so we hear only good things about them. 'It is the way of the future'. The trouble is the web is not easy to pay so that it regulates information, and shapes it into a new truth.

I just been thinking about this. .. and this guys an asshole. this is like ebay. say your a seller, and you cant leave, negative feedback and then ebay rips off shipping charges.

thats like the same as this little asshole that started this topic, who should be banned and hunted down and beaten, as what this is, its the same as ebay. treating people like total crap. he must be the paid bad advertising from that company, ebay. what a waste of a user, he dont care about parts or nothing. he wants a line of death he can pawn off too.

worst stupid retarded moronic idea, or thing anyone has ever pooped out of their brain ever.
