I've really been enjoying this 72' Norton commando interstate. I bought a set of NOS silencers from Donelson's in Stl, they were take offs, they had been laying around since probably 72. The silencers that were on the bike were original, and pretty well rotted on the inside. These new ones sound good, but it still has what I call a wet sound, better than a Harley wet sound, but still. I've seen reference(s) in the manual to carb jet sizes, with or without mutes. Just curios what effect the the mutes would have, if I could find any, and what it would sound like?

I tried the mutes once on my Combat and it made it sound very tinny and also killed the power. The mutes came with size 200 main jets in a little cloth bag.

Thanks, I don't want tinny. Carl Donelson said they sold a few of them back in the day, and nobody liked em.
