GrandPaul - would it be unwise to ask my painter to measure and photograph original side cover decal location and install the new decals in the same location and orientation after repaint? I don’t trust myself to be able to mark location like you did.

NEVER unwise to do the right thing! Very good photos will work, if the painter knows his stuff.
