I just received a Norton Flyscreen for my Sport. Norton sent me the screen and mounting hardware but no instructions. Installation does not appear too difficult but I would appreciate it if anyone could post a few pics showing how the final product should appear. As well, any tips would be useful from any of you who have who have installed one. Thanks!

Thanks.! I just finally put those mirrors on two days ago although I bought them months ago. Had to file down the bar-end fittings to fit the bars.

I bought them here, recommended to me by others on this forum:
http://classicpartsltd.com/classic-moto ... rrors.html

I bought the 830 model, but another guy posted pics of the 820 which fits the bike very well too. I wanted to stay close to the stock stainless circle look. I'm really happy with them other than all the work it took to get them to fit. I asked them to send the correct size bar-end fittings for the Norton SF, but they sent me Cafe Racer size (which has clip-ons) instead of the smaller size my SF needs and then they said they couldn't/wouldn't make them smaller as they thought it could weaken the metal, so I did it myself with a file. Still plenty of metal left and plenty strong. Took about 3 hours of filing for each mirror, but they're on there now!

I've been contemplating the flyscreen for my SE. Did you notice a HUGE or little difference with wind break?

Outside temperature was -29C yesterday. I am still 6 weeks away from a ride.

Maybe Goingcommando has a comment, he lives in a more sensible location.

I want to order a flyscreen as well. I can't seem to find any links to it on Norton's website. Can you post a link to someplace that I can purchase one? Thanks in advance!

Your best bet is to go to a Norton dealer and order it.
That's what I was about to say. The Norton site doesn't have nearly as much accessory information as it once did.

If you decide to order one, I recommend you ask for the hand-painted one. It has gold pin striping and a gold "Norton" on it. It is pricey but worth it!

Here is a pic of my newly-mounted flyscreen. I just installed it a few hours ago.

I will post further comments about its wind and bug deflection capabilities in the near future.

Suuuweeeeeeeet! Love the logo and striping. Ordered it from Norton? The damned shipping costs are so expensive. Cost me a hundred bucks for a Davida full helmet to be shipped.

It was a gift but it came from Norton. It is the same as the standard one but it has the pin striping and logo painted on by hand. I think it cost around 625 Canadian dollars. It was purchased before the C$ went into the toilet!

Agreed, it is sweet, I have some gold Norton decals that I purchased for my helmet but never used. I'll have to see if one works there!

Hi Richard,

Sorry in being so long responding to your question, but due to a comedy of errors I didn't get the flyscreen installed until 2 days ago and I didn't test it until yesterday.

There is not a huge difference with the flyscreen installed at all. There is little if any wind reduction in the normal riding position. I tried bending lower in the "Cafe Racer Pose" and I notice a small reduction in wind. The flyscreen might offer a small wind benefit on the Cafe Racer model but on the SE, SF and Sport it is all about looks! And that's not a bad thing!

As far as insect management goes, not much change either, in fact a large wasp smacked into my visor with great gusto!

However as far as looks go, it is great and you attract a lot of attention. I parked in the spot nearest the door of my local coffee shop and everyone, and I am not exaggerating, everyone who came out the door stopped and stared at my bike. Three people even took photos!!!
