Hello you all,
I have read somewhere in the forums, that tons of digital ink have been spent to cover the crankshaft bearings topic. This is may be a new chapter
My 850 commando is now splitted apart after 55k on rings set. Though cylinder just need honing, noisy lifters showed obvious oval worn tunnels. Fitting OS lifters and new standard cam, the crankcase is splitted. BTW the FAG bearings have no sign of wear (55K) and are supposed to last up to 100K. I bought several parts(parts dealer in England) for the engine rebuild and new FAG just in case of.. Bearings shipped are made in India. Remember the notorious Portugal FAG layshaft bearing? If you were me gentlemen:, Would you run my FAGs another 50K or replace them with the India made ones?

Sorry I wished to add a picture to my post, how can I do to pick up a picture from my computer?

I would run them again, but nothing against FAG bearings made in India, FAG plants all work to the same standards. If the local steel is not up to standard they import it from a supplier who is up to standard. Now Indian bearings made by an Indian company would be an issue.

Image up is from RGM. Below, on the box I received and the included bearing. Thank you all for your opinion and I apologize for my English being far from perfect, being a French speaking Canadian (Quebec)

Bought a couple sets of these fron AN recently. I was surprized they didn't come in FAG packaging,, but appear to be good.

RGM sells quality bearings, just make sure you specify the correct internal clearance

Or order from AN where they only sell the correct bearings (Unfortunately for more than RGM). RGM has two choices of FAG "Superblend" bearings - standard clearance - incorrect IMHO and according to AN; and C3 clearance which is correct NJ306E.M1.C3, again IMHO and according to AN.

Currently, then come from FAG India from AN as well - at least that's what the AN picture shows.
