I’ve now tried several sets of shocks on this bloody bike, latest are a pair of really rather costly Maxton’s.It’s an interesting learning curve actually, the bottom line appears to be that you get what you pay for. The Maxton’s are the best yet by quite a margin. The cheapo Girling replicas were barely fit for purpose frankly.This made me reflect on the Girling Replicas, I think replica is too kind, they’re more ‘look alikes’ as Girlings were FAR BETTER.The Girling look alikes are the ones on sale everywhere these days, frankly they are utter shite and it made me realise that hundreds of bikes are having them fitted and in the process hundreds of fine handling classics are having their handling severely compromised.People who know no better will just assume that’s how they always were... a big shame.Rant over.
