I have a MK3 with lots of ignition problems. It has the cheapest black box Boyer and a Boyer twin lead small coil, part# 00004. Is this compatible with the black box Boyer? I know with Pazons there is a problem using their small coils on all their ignitions. Anyway to test the coil and boyer ignition?

Yes.
COIL00004 12 VOLT DUAL OUTPUT 4.5 OHM PRIMARY

A single dual output coil can be used as long as its primary resistance is more than 3 ohms.

Same for Boyer. The miniature coils are only suitable for use with the 'Micro-Power' ignition due to low primary resistance.

COIL00007 SMALL SINGLE OUTPUT MICRO-POWER COIL (Primary resistance 0.5ohm, secondary resistance 2.75kohm)
COIL00008 SMALL DUAL OUTPUT MICRO-POWER COIL (Primary resistance 0.5ohm, secondary resistance 2.75kohm)

So I am OK with the box and coil. The only test I can find for the black box is to scratch the black-white and black-yellow leads together.
