After the successful purchase of a triumph cylinder head, the seller asked if I needed any other triumph parts and as it happened I was looking for disc brake gear for a mando . He said he could get it for me at a discount as he had relations with triumph parts businesses but then things went arie couldn't get him on the phone etc. Then got an email with a tracking number and a request for £438 to be transferred by PayPal as a gift for a friend...no chance. The box did arrive but instead of my shinney new brake stuff...."........

So many people in the world who wants your money without doing anything for it, scammers are scum of the earth these days you just got to be one step ahead of them, you always hear on the news where someone has been so ripped off by scammers, mostly eldly poeple and the not to bright, what about the scammers that use Ebay and other selling site who say they have sent you money for something you are selling and they send you a Paypal recite through your email and to click on the attachment, the invoce looks so convincing, but of course when you log into your Paypal account there is nothing, they usualy try to scam you after the auction has finished, whats the usual one, I am working off shore I sent a extra 1k for your bike or what ever you are selling and can you send the extra 1k to my shipper, what fools do they think you are, but some fall for it, I have even had one scammer phone me up because I didn't send the money to his shipper, I played a long for a while after few emails say he payed the money into my Paypal account, but they soon disappear when I finaly tell them its in the hands of the police.

Its a shame how the world is going, but computers have made it easy pickings for scammers, you just got to be very carefull not to be a victim of scammer and they are thinking of new things all the time to try and get your hard erned money off you.

That's a VERY rare Webley-Vickers multi-phase transfer modulator! (with piped drain return) Easily worth a couple grand...

Hmm.. It's a Weber Modulator alright. Yes it's rare , they used unobtanium for the vortex drive.

Maybe the guy mixed you up with another customer.

Why would he send you that part if he was just trying to scam you?

Magdynos are tres expensive, even in rough condition.
Looks like you scammed him!

Your comment reminds me of the time when i was about 7 years old travelling home from Wellington in the "Unit" back in the late 50's. My mum sat down on a seat beside some really old geezer who kept on saying he was born yesterday.

If you paid for that thing via the proper Paypal method, you can get your money back because they wont pass the payment on to him till you authorise it. [ or will they ??????? ]

Might have a job grafting that behind the barrels of a Commando but Magneto, DC electrics, Interesting mod :D

I bet there is somebody out there with a disc brake thinking he got scammed too. Looks like the boxes might have got mis-labeled for shipping. I have had it happen to me.

theres something funny going on here , but a lucas magdyno has a fair value to it just sell it on if you get no joy ,plenty of big singles use them including gold stars etc cheers

Oh yes this has happened to me, I was the ebay seller. It all got resolved without conflict and no bad feedback.

Hi,

I did email the boy and when informed of the "flux capacitors " delivery he emailed back the next day and said he had no idea how I got it instead of the brake goods. In the last email I asked him for £20' and I would post it back.

The mag dyno is his property and if he sends the postage money I will return it to him in good faith. This item was not sent to me by mistake in a postage mix up it was a deliberate con. The guy was recently sacked by his father maybe because of some form of substance abuse problem, who knows. But it is his problem not mine and he did seem a decent guy on the phone and probably known to some of the U.K. members of this forum.
