Your bike is an inspiration. Pity it's not perfect. There is a wrinkle in the seat cover.

ciao Orso! it is good to meet you here together with Piero and Mario...

ciao piero,
great stuff there. I am a fastback lover too...

brakes: I've changed the Master Cilinder to the Andover Norton one (mick hemmings sells that one too) and it works perfectly well. I mean it. My commando now brakes like a modern bike (though,I rode a modern bike...).

Good to see some other italian folks in the forum.

Teniamoci in contatto!
Orso.

Great looking bike!

Now a question for you, is that an ironing broad base that you have the bike on :?:

Is a wood table fixed on a X steel tube that i used before for pic nik table, but is very usable.
Ciao.

Piero,
Absolutely beautiful! A job very well done. You should be proud of yourself.
I have one question; How did you get a Norton out of Alabama? Are there any more hidden where you found the ’72 750 Roadster?

Hi Chuck
it cames from Laceys Spring, AL
via ebay...as project bike more then ..."a bike"
was funny i received many boxes from the Usa...
for a while i was like a child at Christmas :D
anyway it was less expensive than shipping the whole bike, for sure!

Mario

Beautiful bike, Piero. I have been impressed with your skills and your use of the translator to get the information you need. I know that some things did not translate well but you were very patient and eventually got to the answer you needed. That cannot be easy.

Are your cousins plumbers? :)

Mario.
That bike came from the Huntsville area, a lot of retired military in that area.
If you ever need any thing scoped out in Alabama or west side of Georgia let me know. It would geve me a good reason to travel done roads I have not been down before.
You guys do beautiful work. I love Nortons in black!

Piero, I suggest there is only one way to build a classic bike - the right way. Your commando should have left the factory looking like that. I really like the front end with the fork shrouds with the correct Norton logo. Your attention to detail is fantastic. Until now I always thought that black Velocettes and Vincents looked the best classic bikes. I wonder if a new black 961 would look as good as your bike ?

Would you possibly post a level photo of each side of your bike onto this forum? The shots you've already posted are lovely, however I'd like to grab a couple of good side -on shots for my collection. What are here already don't show the complete bike without bits cut off - might be due to the image size you uploaded ?

I was inspired to a Vincent ... Black Knight bike you know be faired especially on the back.
In fact I'm building starting from the tail a new tail that wraps around the wheel and shock absorbers.
But I have no hurry.
However I've never seen anything more beautiful than a Vincent Black Knight at not being able to buy it I thought about a subrogation, a Fastback black knight.

Ciao.

I would like to echo the others who have responded with my admiration for your work and style. I have enjoyed reading your progress and have learned many things from your questions and posts. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to reading more about your Dunstall project in the future as I too have a Dunstall 850 that I have nearly sorted.

The apparent degree of photo "crop" depends to a certain extent on the computer screen size and resolution that the image is being viewed on.

If you want to see whole image, (for Windows) left click on it and hold, then drag to the browser tab, the full image should then open in its own window.

To return to the forum page, click the "back" button.

I apologize for the photos that are a little sacrificed but the bike was rebuilt into the tavern, three meters below the garden level.
Now I'll need at least six people to climb the staircase which is really steep.
Once climbed i will make full and best picture having more space and more light.
In the mid-July, on my return from Canada, I will ride above and I'll do the first ride on the road.
The whole picture, from all sides, I need also to do in order to have the registration plate.
In Italy you can register in historic register with a new plaque any bike having at least twenty-five years.
Ciao.
Piero
