I need the ECU flash cable for the Norton Dominator 2020 omex Euro 4

Hi the answer to your message is as above from Stu - the cable is the easy bit the details are in my post above. Anyone with a soldering iron could make it up with connectors off ebay. The problem seems to be with the software. The map files are just part of the equation - with all the vast range of experience on this forum including the mighty Wizard Stu of Bodycote nobody has managed to get the connection working for a euro 4 Omex ECU. If anyone can prove me wrong then please do so! My recommendation would be to try some of the old dealers to see if they have a laptop somewhere with the software on. I understand your frustration - there are engine parts I need from Norton and despite my involvement with them they WILL NOT tell me if the parts have been modified and so will fit if I purchase them.

Thanks Clive.
Software you mean the Map 4000 files?
Doesn’t most of Norton dealers and mechanics from 2013-2020 should have these files?

yes map 4000 plus extra files I assume so. I am guessing that as soon as they are signed up as dealers/ service they are given it all so they can fit open exhausts and remap?

Yes everything can be done, I have the 2 Maps for the exhaust.

SO HOW IS IT NO ONE CAN SHARE The Map 4000?

Well, why should they share them? Walk into Ducati, not even a niche brand, and demand them to share their diag software 😂 Who ever you got the map files from, ask them for the rest of whats required.

I do wonder what resources the dealers actually had. When i was wanting to have the tuning looked at on mine (SCS ECU) Donington advised that it would only be possible if the dealer had a similar bike on the shop floor.

@ntst8 I have the same for an SCS ECU as what a dealer had. It gives you the ability to reset idle and monitor conditions, and download and upload a preconfigured tune to the ECU - but not modify the tune of the ECU. Having the SCS unlocked, or getting the upgraded Delta 400 ECU gives you full control of the ECU, including tuning.

Could it be that Dinnington was advising that if there was another bike there (assuming it had one for different pipes etc, that it's tune could be downloaded and then uploaded to yours?

I didn't query the why with Donington at the time, i was just thankful on the odd occasion that they actually responded. The session at the then dealer turned out not to be worth the effort, I Wilson's findings proved to be much more useful.
I have the Delta 400 now, although the bike has been sitting in the corner for nearly a year for a variety of reasons.

My bike is off the road at the moment with rocker-knock so a bit of a pause on the ECU work. Still contemplating replacing the ECU with an SCS. A fair bit of experience on the forum with these now.....

I can make a cable, but time taken would make it expensive. Also, since my laptop went for repair, Ive lost the euro 4 gin files ......so a cable would be useless on its own.
Luckily, I dont need it. If there's a fault and the bike runs like crap, its pretty easy to diagnose with just a multimeter. If it runs fine but the eml is on, then its most likely just a sporadic reading from the camshaft sensor that the ecu picked up as being out of range. Nothing to worry about, its a case of them just making the acceptable parameters too tight. You can clear the light on the road yourself.
If you don’t need the cable how will you upload new Euro 4 maps to your Euro 4 customers?

What new maps?

For the Domi there is four maps, as follows:
Stock
Aftermarket with cat
Aftermarket without cat
Megaphones
And that's it....there's no continuation from there, no later refined software maps.

Commando got less...
Stock
Aftermarket with cat
Aftermarket without cay

The Commando and Dominator Streets never got a dedicated map for the 2-1 system....it was what ever worked from what was available.
There is also no map for Megaphones with baffles, as Norton never offered baffles, officially.

For the past couple of years I've been very fortunate in that I've not needed to play around with a euro 4, up until that is a few weeks ago when I had to install a Aftermarket with decat map file into a California. After lots of fucking about ie having to get a mate to come over with another lap top, it eventually installed.

OMEX map 4000 doesn’t work for Euro 4 ECU, which OMEX software did you use?
