I finally have 6000 miles on my 961

Hey Tony,
Rather embarrassed to say my 2014 SF has a little under 4000 miles. I'm usually on two wheels but that bike has been sitting too much. I'm not wanting to get into a pi$$ing match, and I know the opinion held by most Norton owners of other brands, but I've got just under 55,000 miles on my 2013 HD. Of all the bikes I've got, I mainly ride just five, and the HD is a workhorse. The Norton is also one of the most enjoyable. Love to thrash it on the curvy hilly roads, don't mind turning a wrench on it, and certainly could sit and look at it for hours. I'll do better, I promise.

Makes sense, Brother. The Harley is made for mileage. Can't carry much gear on a stock Norton.

2 weeks since surgery. Got the titanium yanked out. Hard to pick the leg up to put on the pegs with the 961s riding position, but.....bumped up to 8288 miles. Went up to 57F with sunshine and some wind. :)

I know I should be posting changed mileage after every damned ride, but if I'm not riding, I'm bored. Maybe add a few more today.

So here I am in a beautiful spot stuck with 8399 on the clock. My fuel pump just shut down. It doesn't Prime when you turn the key on. Waiting for a biker with a van to haul my ass home. Frustrated to say the least.

Fuse or loose relay? Each of those has caught me out a couple of times and knocked out the fuel pump.

That is initially what I thought, but that that I'm back in the garage, I am hearing the pump prime. Odd, because its a fairly loud prime yet I didn't hear it at all on the road. Richard and Tony think maybe tilt sensor or kickstand switch. I'll check quick before catching a flight to Florida.

DING DING DING DING DING. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!! All four relays were backing out. Pushed them in. VROOM. Many thanks iwilson. If you see the bike next to the Norton in my photo, you can see why I never dealt with this stuff. Love this forum!! Thanks to Tony and Richard too. Learning more as we go along. Now I know, carry a 5mm hex key, a couple of fuses and an alligator clip jumper.

Can those relays be zip tied down ?
Actually, Tony, no. Only if you remove the fuse box and get really thin ties and go around the back, but its certainly not optimal. I found a nice new leftover piece of neoprene garage door lower gasket and mounted it inside the fuse box cover so its a snug fit. The only think left zip tied is the tilt sensor because it was sliding forward on the tab its mounted on.

(I write software for a living - a list must be correctly sorted).

If only that one 961 owner I saw on Facebook had joined the forum he'd be at the top of the list with 26,000+

Rode 66 miles mostly in dense fog yesterday. After 26 miles, the Tripometer reset back to 0. Probably low voltage again. Forgot to plug it in for about 2 weeks. Fired right up, though. Ran GREAT until towards the end when she got hot. Idled at 2k. That's annoying. It'll reset if I turn it off and restart, but that's not always convenient. I'm sure my dealership remapped to 77 instead of 91 when performing work. Need to address that.
So........8465. Also replaced the crank sensor when I got home. Only started it and it idled well. If it runs better, TBD. Oh....and installed the rear mud gaurd from Zero Limits. Looks great! I may pop for the fly screen.
