Probably some feeby knob or dummy button somewhere that will make those "annular discharge" muffler caps fall right off, but I can't find it. I tried riding it 5 miles so that vibration could take care of the problem, but that didn't work. I can't say "annular discharge" without thinking potty thoughts, and if there any to be had, I want them muffled, for sure. Can anybody tell me how it's done, I'd like to refresh the paint.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure they are welded in and cannot be removed easily.

Clean off paint and look for the spot weld, though depends on who mad them, Armours, TOGA etc.

Sounds like a job for an airbrush...

Use a blue-tipped wrench, commonly referred to as a smoke wrench...

You can also drill them radially around the endcap to open them up and keep the stock appearance.

If they are the original ones they should have a patent number and date on them, and if they are I would be interested in buying them, then you could just buy some pea shooters and have your wanted sound
