Hi all, apparently one can get a copy of the Hogslayer doco directly from TC Christenson.. perhaps signed?.. can anyone verify that?.. if yes does someone know his email address (or postal?) Anyone seen the video?

cheers Greg

I got the video and it is fun but disappointed that they really didn't go too much into the engine, gearbox, clutch to explain how they got the power and reliability.
As I recall thay ran like 135 time without having to open up the engine. Impressive.

hmmm

thats a bit disappointing.. figured that would be integral with the story

From personal conversations with John Gregory my understanding is that the engine build was unremarkable. Stock crank, maybe even stock rods. The slipper clutch was pieced togther from various components, one of which I recall was an earthmoving equipment clutch and maybe an AMC, Rambler or Studebaker transmission planetary. Simple but effective.

Have the DVD, bought several copies gave them to other Norton lovers/riders/owners.
Worth every cent!!!
Regards Mike

I got my Hogslayer DVD yesturday, what they done and with no backing from any major parties but the poeple and friends that they made on their way is outstanding, as well the mount of times they went down the track without any mechanical problems, they even said after over 130 runs they never even checked the valve clearances, unreal and all the records they broke on the way, they did it for the fun of it and of course the beer.

Can't wait to see the next Hogslayer the 3 engine monster that was sitting behind them have a few runs, hope they put that beast on DVD.

As Matt Spencer informs :-

Here’s what does NOT appear to be common information;
Compression ratio was lowered to run on nitro.
Spark plugs have to be replaced after EVERY run as the metal electrode melts completely when using nitro :!: ……………..
