Just wondering who has the most mileage on their 961 odometer?

I'm only at 2100.
Last I heard from Richard-7, his dad had 17,000.

Anyone else above 10,000?

Speaking of Richard's dad, how's he doing? Recovering nicely, I hope. Definitely the most inspiring cat on the board. 8)

After 1 year, I'm at 5,400 miles, which is a lot for me as I don't commute on it at all, so just fun miles.

And I'm often riding other bikes.

lol. Thank you! Yes doing well. He is off all pain killers and meds. Probably wont be back on the road until next spring. He did have an EAST COAST Canada trip planned but that will have to wait. I have a very pleasurable 3,600 miles on my bike now. Next year I plan on riding my Suzuki 2-stroke to work and the 961 for fun but I am already thinking that will happen for a month and then the Suzuki will sit as the Norton is just too much fun to pass on any opportunity to ride it.

Richard,

Great news about your Dad on the mend.
For me, the best part of breaking a bone was the pain killers
Just kidding.

How many miles did your Dad have on his bike before the accident?
Had to be somewhere around 20,000, no?

Not at 20,000 yet. Would have been if he went on he next scheduled trip out east this year. I believe he is around 16,000 or just over.

Sorry to steer off topic, but I'm glad he's mending and sorry he has to blow off the rest of the season. Let him know we are thinking about him and looking forward to his next long distance ventures.

I will -- Thank you!

I have now a bit more than 16,000 miles on the clock of my Café Racer. Got it May 2012 and am doing a lot of commuting miles.

All stock, or any mods?

That is outstanding. Good to hear from an owner with an older 961 with high mileage. And, I would imagine there are some great roads in Switzerland to ride that 961. I am jealous

All stock, or any mods?

Just mounted new SBN exhausts yesterday. the stock ones (open long race track) were getting rusty underneath the chrome coating.
I have LED indicators and a new headlamp (metal instead of plastic).
Carbon chain guard, the stock and metal one did break.
The hydraulic cylinder on the right side was lifted a bit (Egli modification), thus less in the way to get the leg closer to the tank.
Bar-end mirrors.
I think that's it for the moment and yes, I am enjoying live here in Switzerland. Thank you very much Richard for the manuals...

Raphi that's great!

Make certain to get the EFI remap with the SBN exhaust.

Did you buy the metal Norton (Dominator) headlight shell. or replace the stock one with something else?

Regards.
