Help Me Pick Which Ones?

I just purchased this vintage jacket so think of that as you choose my boots :)
Help Me Pick Which Ones?

Those Motorway boots are almost identical to what Lewis had on sale in the late 1970's. I bought a pair when I was 18yrs old and found them again in the loft space when I was 55yrs old lol. They were well used, still fitted me but looked very 'dated' as opposed to 'stylish'. I put them on ebay and they sold for twice the original price! IMO get the shorty boots.
For the record I use Sidi Black Rain, found a lot of other boots to be too clumsy for the Norton's gearchange. l should go buy some Doc M's :D

Ok, being slightly more serious, there's nowt wrong wi' Doc Martins but...

These days I usually wear Daytona boots. I started wearing these for racing as they offer the best crash protection and amazing comfort. I wear simple, plain black, gortex lined ones for the road. They are supper soft and supple and comfortable straight out of the box.

I think its easy to forget that traditional bike boots as shown used to take at least a year (of daily use) to bed in. Before that they're stiff and clumsy and blister causing.

Apart from that, they're great.

I also have the Daytona boots and have two pairs. They are very comfortable right out of the box. I purchased my first pair about 10 years ago. I have been thinking of getting a more retro boot and everything I have read has praised the Lewis Leathers boots. I also have the Sidi Adventure and a couple others but still look to modern.

I do like the Norton Commando boots also and even considered having a pair of Edward Green's MTO since I have a couple pair and they are very comfortable and very stylish.

This comment got me thinking... I have two pairs of boots. One is a pair of Stylmartin
Legend boots, which definitely look the part. It occurred to me that I hadn't worn them since getting the bike because I'd instead been wearing another pair of Stlymartin boots more suitable for the summer months. They seem to have vanished from their website but are very similar to the Chester boots.

This weekend before I wheeled the bike out of the garage I remembered this thread and reached for the Legend boots. They're quite chunky, so difficulty changing gears was not out of the question. Sure enough I found that I had to angle my foot a bit more than usual, though I didn't have any difficulties doing it; it just felt a bit strange. Happily after the first few shifts I got used to it and by the end of the ride I was back to doing it without thinking.
