I thought I'd would say hello after reading many pages of your fine forum and joining yesterday.

I recently bought one of the Colorado Norton Works bikes (#25) off of E-Bay.It should arrive in a week or two.

My first Norton, I bought new in 72. I just had a thing for Commandos since they came out and against better judgment and advice from others, I bought the bike for $1300 OTD. Of course I had to get the Combat option! Needless to say,I had both a great time and the expected breakdowns ( main bearings, losing the front pads on the way home, broken rear axle, etc.) But when it was running, I was in love. Since then, I was always looking but didn't pull the trigger until last week. I probably paid too much (10K) but what the Hell.

Welcome Tony - Matt's Nortons at CNW are top notch stuff- we look forward to seeing a pic or two of it when you get it a chance to post

Hi Tony,

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum! I saw that auction on ebay. I think you'll be very pleased with the bike when it arrives. $10K sounds pretty good when you consider what their new builds go for.

Thanks Debby. BTW, I really have enjoyed your blog.

welcome, was it the red colored one on ebay?

10 isn't all that bed for one that's all done up. consider all the money you'd put into a decent runner(i'm figuring it out). you might already be on top!

Yup, it's the red one. Here's a picture at the CNW shop.

Hello from a new guy

NICE!!! 10K seems pretty reasonable for a CNW bike to me. I have at least 8K into mine and she ain't as pretty as this one! I think you should have a well-sorted bike there. Hopefully it will be a lot more reliable and just as much fun as your original Combat. Welcome to the forum!!

I see you don't have a speedo so be careful with that right wrist!!

That's about 2/3 or less of the typical price. Just the front brake setup is worth over a grand.

Great deal on a pretty bike.

You can't fault Matt's work. If there's anything not perfect on it, it's down to the people that have had thier hands on it since it left CNW.

i have build no 52 here in england and have been very happy with it for the last 3 years and have just ordered his new cafe racer
my suggestion is after the riding season send it back to him for a full service and check over .

Hi Richard

I suppose if I was a rich man, I would consider sending it back to Matt but with Greg (norbsa48503) in the area, if he is willing, I think I've got it covered. I just hope it is not too tarted up. I don't mind a few changes but I want to preserve the character and essence of the Commando.

Greg

Will do! I hope to see you at the "Battle of the Brits".

10k is a steal for that bike. You literally will have to do nothing to it besides regular maintenance and put gas in it. Welcome!

CNW bike

Hello nice bike looks somewhat like my bike build # 57 from CNW you will enjoy every ride with a large smile as you zoom down the road. Beautiful bikes worth every penny just like brand new from the showroom you can't get any better than that. I had my norton 27 years before I sent her for restoration thought the old girl deserved a make over and TLC after all the years I rode the piss out of it. Its been a love hate relationship for many a year came close to taking a BFH to the little darling many a time however love prevailed and I just couldn't part with the bike. I'm sure I am not alone like everyone else with a NORTON "addicted to love" enjoy.

ride like the wind, Doxford

It finally showed up today. It started on the second kick and what a sound! Are these Epcos a little louder then stock? It's raining like crazy, so it's polish time.
