Health Care For any of you US Federal-Postal annuitants out there

Sad state of affairs. Especially when you see how many mid to upper level State and City employees and their unions are rather exceptionally good at looking after themselves.

Unfortunate that the bulk of our very high local and State taxes go to their excess pay and benefits, but not to the real people in need.

Good grief, those links show nothing short of an outright scandal !

I hate to revive an old thread but I've got a similar issue here. Can anyone provide some more tips?

As a non-US resident, I can't really relate to the struggles of the US health care system, but I can imagine it's a headache to navigate through. It's great to hear that you found a plan that will save you some money though! $4k a year is nothing to scoff at. It's always a good idea to reassess your insurance plans during open season to see if you can find a better deal. And hey, speaking of insurance, have you considered getting a life insurance policy? $5 million dollar life insurance sounds pretty fancy, but even a smaller policy can give you peace of mind knowing your loved ones will be taken care of if anything happens to you.
