Hi All,

Just a quick few photos of a headlight swap I did on my bike. I had the plastic early style headlight, with a crack on the edge (that I understand is somewhat common). I would have liked a factory one, but after some searching have gone with one from baak.

Fits fairly straightforward, overall good build quality and the gloss back is a reasonable match to the factory paint, I'm happy with the look of it, and I thought a few photos might help someone else.

Before and after is as below; excuse the lack of detailing:

Nice, it looks factory :)

Looks great!
The later Norton headlamp is a Highsider item. They now do one with a chrome rim too. If using their headlamp, you'll need two five mm spacers.

Good find Gojuu- looks almost identical to my 2015 CR unit. Another item for the alternate part list?

That gloss back rim is a bit of a magnet for gravel on my bike, which has a fare number of chips to show for it. Too late for mine but a narrow strip of 3m paintguard will stop this and is virtually invisible - if that sort of thing bothers you of course.

Thanks Stu. Interestingly, I needed to use two 5mm spacers which I ordered with the headlamp……makes you wonder.

I ordered it with the black ring, but there is an option for chrome.

Looks like a Norton shell . The metal shell is much nicer . Looks great .

I went for the metal black with chrome ring from Highsider - it looks great but I need to do some tidying up with some of the wires that are a job to fit inside the headlight shell as the plug hole is at the base of the shell rather than at the back as is the case with the original plastic item.

Hi everyone. I also need a new headlight bucket. regarding the Baak units, does anyone know which motorbike option works the best for the 961s? if you go on the link , theres quite a few motorcycle choices but no 961.
Also , I’ve tried the Highsider option and havent found a headlight assembly that looks like the 961 oem. There was a “Nevo” unit. Is that still a Highsider product?
lastly, will the factory replacement headlight bucket fit the 2013, 961s? Any idea the $$ for the factory replacement?
thanks evryone

Yep, last one in the list is “universal” - that’s the one I ordered.

One more question …… is the lense glass on the Baak and the Highsider units?
Thanks. S

gid-day gojuu
when you say last on the list do you mean the
triumph bobber 2017 0n
cheers jason

UPDATE: I have installed the above headlight bucket from Baak. It is the exact one in the picture. Black bucket with chrome ring. Install went well. With the above unit, on my bike( 2013 SE), i did need 5-6mm spacers on each side of the headlight unit to the fork ears. I’m currently just using washers till I can make some up on the lathe.
All the larger wiring connectors inside the bucket are still inside the bucket but a couple of the smaller, 2 wire connectors live outside the bucket now. I used some dielectric grease for water resistance on all connectors. The connectors that are outside the bucket now are still somewhat covered from water(imho).
Regarding the small pilot light light bulb, I cut the original wiring and tapped in the new Baak units bulb wiring.
So far, I would recommend the Baak unit.
I tried to get some pix posted but havent had success transferring from phone to the forum yet
