Does your headlight come on immediately after turning your ignition key to on?
On my USA version, it does but there is an lighting switch on the left hand handlebar which has no function at all
and cannot be moved, and has a headlight icon next to it.
Just wondering.

Same on my 2014 Sport picked up Dec.2014 . My guess its USA Law must have light on at all times.

I'm in UK with a June 2012 bike and I can ride with lights on or off, the handlebar switch is fully functional. My Ducati of the same age has it's lights come on with the ignition, in the UK there's no hard fast rule for daytime lights.

This was very strange to me, but I have a fully functional light switch on my 2013 CR.
Found out to my surprise when traveling through a tunnel with no headlight on.
Of course I never turn the headlight on, all bikes made for sale in US must always have the headlight on.
My first impression was that the bulb was burned out.
I stopped on the side of the road and found that the headlight could be turned on and off with engine running.

I suppose the boys at Norton sent me a Euro Commando.
Any other US owner of a CR have this "undocumented" feature?

Me too, BT. Maybe they upgraded the 14s. I can turn mine completely off, , full and high beam. I don't remember...does it have a secondary pilot light before full head light like my bonny?

I never checked for a pilot light on the bike.
The off position on the switch is just that, off.
I'll have to check my manual to see if it mentions a pilot.

My 2013 SF has the switched locked in the on position. I can't figure out how to turn the pilot on either!

Just checked. The 2013 Sport (US) is the same. Off, pilot, headlamp and high beam. All function.

I also just checked my 2013 CR, all 3 functions:
off, pilot, headlight on.
