Hi All,
I am installing the heady steady on a '74 Roadster 850. I have come across some literature claiming to reduce vibration below 3000rpm.
Service Release N3/51, May 1973.
When I follow the instructions and preload the Rubber mounting using the 1.25" washers to place the head steady in its most forward position on the cylinder head (and I would add with GREAT difficulty) the rubber mount is deformed excessively - too much in my opinion.
In fact the pressure on one of the studs moulded into the rubber broke away as I was tightening it up. Next time I will use loctite and less torque.
Has anyone done this task and can anyone knowledgeable offer any constructive advice.
Thanks
Cheers Don C
