Have any V4s been delivered?

Good guess but that was a friends bike. I did also ride my sons YZF125 over the mountain which was great fun trying to keep it pinned and not let off the gas but alas my my knowledge of the roads let me down and I failed miserably.

Well, a YZF125 would be more my bag!

I’d scare myself witless with 210bhp!

Assuming I survived that is...

50 and up you mean ? Or in our case 60 and up ?
I'm a pup. Only 58:D Also, there's one guy in there that looks like he might be in his 40s'. As much as I hate to admit it, my reflexes, depth perception and alertness are not what they were years back. I'd have no business riding the streets on that beast. If I had it, I want to use it.

I don't understand this age thing.
If your back and wrists can tolerate the clipons on the V4, and you find it appealing, then you should have it.
You're an adult with sound judgement, not a young n' dumb adolescent.
Feel like going fast, go fast, feel slow today, then go slow.
And you know that you can ride a fast bike as slow as you want.
Simple really.

This whole age thing is crazy.
I choose to now measure my age in hexadecimal - 42, which is much more appealing than my decimal age.
I feel young again, show me that V4 now...:D

Well that’s easier said than done sir!

Well, it is for me at least.

Last time a rode an R1 I spent the whole ride trying to slow the thing down. As soon as I relaxed that effort I’d be doing 2 or 3 times the speed limit.

The dangerous thing was that it didn’t feel fast to me. A real calibration warp.

I remember coming into a village with a 30mph limit after being out on some fast roads giving it the beans. I slowed right down and remember thinking I’d over done it, it felt so slow I might fall over, but when I looked at the speedo I was still doing 60mph.

And that R1 had a LOT less power than the 1200 V4.

So, I’m not saying don’t buy one... in fact I think YOU should! But I do know that I can’t be trusted with such a device.

I’ll be happy with the half power version !

42 Hex , I am only 3C Hex . A youngster like Britfan is only 3A Hex .

Took my friends Aprilia RSV4 Factory for a ride. Has about the same in power as the V4. Doing 80 in second gear, cracked it up to 130 in a few seconds. Handed back the keys and had enough of that for one lifetime. Bullshyte, Fred. Self control is not one of my forte. Physically, I'm my age, Mentally, I AM a dumb adolescent. HP is meant to be used by the right people at the right time. The track.

Disclaimer: You should always ride responsibly.:D
The Aprilia is a tool like any other tool, and has it's place and time for use.
You can use most of the performance of a sportbike on a trackday certainly, on the road you just have to be more judicious.
You unleash the beast only where you are familiar with the surroundings and the possible "observers."
In this way you have your fun, and avoid offending others, like citizens, and yes - officials, if you get my drift.

I only do a few track days a year these days, just enough to get my fix.

There are always a few ex racers there, in scruffy old leathers and riding non discript mediocre bikes, like obslelete 600s, who ride rings around the guys on the top notch super rockets!

There are only a few tracks where ametures like us can really use all that power.

When I imported my Daytona to Canada ( a mere 162 bhp) it had to be safety checked.
The young guy doing the safety check looked at the shiny crotch rocket with then 58 year old me standing beside it and said " When it comes to going way too fast, you old guys are the absolute worst "

I think he was correct.

It's a 2005, the later 3 cylinder job, version 2 ,149 bhp stock + 12-14 bhp for open pipe &tune , according to Triumph.
Way more than I can make use of, but one still tries!

So has there or will there be any reviews by any new V4 owners?

P.s. the weather has been awful recently in the UK so I'm happy to give concession for any poor weather excuses ;)
