all the mega bling computer nerd decorations cost & do nuthing for a belt it with a brick , if it wont go , type . Turkeys want to think that
' old rubbish ' was unreliable . Usually it was 18 year old halfwits with no mchanical sense - If Triiumphs & Nortons had had rev limiters &
no nasty points ( C B's the nylon ones ) half of the ' stoppages ' would never have occured . to be Contrary ! . Some twits cant even set a
Magneto Right . Or dont realise the necesity . THAT , owner involvment , was the crux of earier stuff . Tho blokes that didnt thrash the
daylights out of them had no worries with scedulded servicing .

Walter Davidsons greatest TRIUMPH . ;)

You dont really need above ' the ton ' for a El Cheapo .Navigated for a 36 V Twin once , wot cruised at 80 & ran the sweepers at 70 .

Much preferable to a stamped out tinny one . Tho as a ' consumer appliance ' they dont make a very good refrigerator . Not Bad for
a Saw Bench , THOUGH .

Walmart becomes latest — and biggest — company to roll back its DEI policies

“Zeitz has set a goal to make all Harley-Davidson vehicles run on electricity by 2030.“
I think this alone would sink HD, never mind the other crazy stuff.

Well, is it linked or just coincidence ?

Since this story started, things have gone downhill rapidly for HD here in the U.K.

Dealers are closing at a rapid rate.

I live in Oxford, and the HD European HQ is in Oxford, so I had told my HD riding mate not to worry, they’ll never close the Oxford dealer for this reason.

And I was correct… right up until they decided to close it recently !!

We have gone from one extreme to the other in a matter of months, HD dealers were the most prolific around him and me, now it’s like owning a rare exotic brand with no dealers in the locality.

Sumthin’ is certainly happening …

I'm gutted every time I hear another dealer has closed
Harley or otherwise
It's not good for any of us

We refer to them as "Worship Centers" here.

The giant, fancy, destination dealer business model is a hangover from the BOOM YEARS!
Time to go back to modest digs that are sustainable.

Yeah I’ve seen those in the US, but HD dealers over here (that I’ve seen at least) tend to not be any bigger than any other dealership in general.

Even the Oxford one (home town of the European HD HQ) was basically a large business ‘unit’ next door to identically sized Ducati and Honda units run by the same retail group.

2024 Financial Outlook

For the full year, Harley had to downgrade its projections further. It now says that Harley-Davidson Motor Company revenue will be down 14% to 16% compared to its Q1 projection of flat to down 9% in Q1 2024. Its operating income is also reduced and is projected to come in at between 7.5% and 8.5% versus the 12.6% to 13.6% it expected at the end of Q1 2024. One has to begin to wonder how deep this hole will go if things continue as they have so far in 2024.

Our Mission is to catalyze a movement of business leaders driving a better way of doing business for the wellbeing of people and planet.

As we work toward our vision of the future, a future where business is a force for good, we must face the policies, practices and mindsets that have brought us to a world of broken trust, rapidly rising temperatures and increasing inequality.

A 'steady road to nowhere'

Even before the furore over the advert, "the brand was on a steady road to nowhere", argues Matthias Schmidt, founder of industry intelligence firm Schmidt Automotive Research.
-----------------
But Tim Parker, strategy director at Conran Design Group, thinks it is a risky strategy. "They have indeed copied nothing that has come before in the brand's rich heritage, but at what cost?

"Few brands ever succeed by alienating their traditional customer base over the longer term," he continues. "If the goal is to build relevance in a crowded luxury EV market, then differentiation makes sense – but only if the underlying strategy is coherent."
