I predict, the MoCo will unwoke, shrink back to a motorcycle company, and there will be huge brick showrooms next to interstate highways empty, as reminders of the t-shirt company times.

Make sure it's clear....

Not the CEO's birthplace & heritage that are in contempt, but rather the sickening BUSINESS PRACTICES.
And the business practices of the board of directors.

This is people SPEAKING WITH THEIR WALLET.

Ok, I still do not get what triggered this ‘backlash’ NOW?

The CEO has been on board for four years.

His policies have therefore been on the agenda and being pushed for four years.

I can’t see the correlation between four year old news and the current backlash, and I therefore assume something specific must have happened recently ?

Does anyone know what actually happened to tip people over the edge and cause this current ‘backlash’ ?

Or is this just a media frenzy driven thing ?

Yes it's been happening, but Robby Starbuck brought it to National Attention.
You can see here, he has been very outspoken about the DEI nonsense.
