Grant's Featherbed Special

I think anyone who knows anything about bikes, and sees no external wiring, will appreciate your hard work. This is a truly stunning build.
+1.......not trying to be negative or critical here (I do really think that the work and effort gone into this build are top notch, and all the time putting it up here in this thread--which I have truly enjoyed reading and looking at ), but don't those bars seem a little bit on the wide side??

Yes, they are a couple of inches wider than I would prefer!

However, because I'm running hydraulic brake and clutch, it's the only way I could get clearance for the levers.

It's not ideal, but when I test fitted the tank it made it look a little slimmer!

I like the bars wider as you can throw the bike around a bit better, like a speed way bike.

Its looking good anyway.

Come on Grant...

This is just not good enough. There is a whole bunch of us sat here waiting for the next instalment of your build blog.

Pull yer finger out man...!

Yep - I need to get underway with it.

I know, I know - I need to get my priorities right and put the bike first.
Shitty excuses I know, but I have had a lot going on with work, and am in the process of moving house.

At the moment, I can only work on the bike outside when the weather is good, as I don't have the space right now.
The good news is, when I move I will build a new workshop straight away that will allow me to work all weathers.

...currently getting around some challenges around the front engine plates, head steady and centre stand springs which have all slowed down the progress.

That's some rather spiffy stuff happening there...

Hope you get on well with your move; a new shop is ALWAYS nice!

I don't understand Grant... surely you have a kitchen or living room of some kind where you could work on the bike... kitchens are good, they have fridges for beer...

I don't know how I missed this thread, I just spent over an hour reading everything and looking at the pictures. VERY impressive build and I can't wait to see the progress you make. I also love reading how you and your dad are working together 8)

Nigel - I made the mistake of listening to Rohan, and put handlebars on my bike... now it won't fit through the front door!!!!

Jean - THANKS!!! You're projects have provided me with immense inspiration in some of the things I am doing with my bike, so praise like that coming from you is high praise indeed! :D

I only commented on the lack of handlebars.
I didn't know about your potential front door trouble !!

Most bikes have handlebars, after all....
Cheers.

Where did you get the frame plate from? Looks good enough to fool any DMV inspector 8)
