am on vacation in England for 3 weeks and will be driving in the Midlands, Wales, and on to London....any shops w/ Nortons and/or parts I should see?? would specifically like to get parts for a Commando 520 chain conversion. Spent the day at Brooklands yesterday and loved it, saw a few Nortons among all the other planes, cars, MC's, buses, bicycles, etc....

The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham (it's just off the motorway and easy to get to and from) and Sammy Miller's museum are both worth a visit. Also look through the classic bike magazines and see which autojumbles are on while you are there. A number of main parts suppliers have stalls at these events and there are always interesting things to see and perhaps buy.

The National Rally has a day at Brooklands this weekend (Sat) with the site based 12 miles away at Bisley. There will be a Concours and rides up the test hill.
On the 520 conversion I don't know of anyone offering a kit but you can easily machine the rear drum to 1/4" and either do the same to the gearbox sprocket or buy a Dominator part which is correct width. All material comes off the left side and teeth need profiling (chamfering) to match existing unmachined side. Stenor Engineeering in the UK did mine but any competent machinist could do it. Just bear in mind that the front sprocket is hardened.

Hi the Main man is near Birmingham Norvil , if in London Ace cafe on the North cicular on Friday nights loads of bikes. Greenford which is close by has a bike museum run by the Triumph chap
Goodwood festival is also on this weekend Im not sure you can get tickets at the gate so check . Kempton auto jumble on Saturday (near Heathrow Airport)

I will stop there
Hope you have a good time :D

thanks very much to all for the ideas, made it to the National MC museum so far and that was truly amazing, 800+ British bikes including many Nortons, some one of a kind factory prototypes, Hogslayer too...will post some photos when I get a chance

Obviously, the biggest Norton spares inventory worldwide and distributor/dealer with the highest turnover worldwide is in Hungerford/Berkshire, but not really equipped to entertain callers. However, you could ring Nick or Keith to see if they have time to show you around. http://www.andover-norton.co.uk
