The information on the site is a bit ambiguous. Will this fit in the stock nacelle with an adaptor and the proper wiring socket? (Goffs H4LED5K)

Right now it has the LUCAS 414, 446 headlight bulb

I want the brightest headlight possible both to seen by motorists both day & night and also allow spotting deer at night on mountain roads in the Adirondack.

Works in my '74.

H4 doesn't fit a BPF (414, 446) reflector.

For a BPF reflector/bulb holder:

You will need a lens with an H4 bulb mounting. It's a tight fit in the headlamp shell, because the big switch on top gets in the way. I have a Wipac lens and am able to squeeze the 5K Daylighter in there with effort.

You need to fit an H4 reflector to use the Goff bulb that you show.

Paul does supply one that will work with the original equipment reflector.

I went for the shallow Wipac even though I’ve got a lot less of rats nest in there than standard.

I do not know how warm / hot these things get, but I didn’t relish the idea of it being pressed hard up against a nest of wires in an unventilated shell.

I have the one identified in this URL in my '74. It is very BRIGHT!!!, especially since I always ride with it in high beam mode.
No worries about someone seeing you and no hassles involved with plumbing in a different bayonet mount adaptor with
inadequate room in the headlight shell. Get the special offer set of bulbs. You will be glad you did.

This should do the trick. 4K is pictured but 5K is listed at the bottom.

They offer a 90 degree connector for tight spaces.

For what it is worth, you can buy a 6.5K H4 bulb that works with positive earth off of Amazon for $20 USD... Reflectors and plugs are available there too.

The one in that pic will NOT fit inside a 74 Commando headlight shell. That big plastic thingie on the back will hit everything. The switch, the indicator lamps etc. I have one very similar that I bought off Amazon and no way in hell will it go in there.

That is the beauty of the bulb that I use - nothing sticks out the back, everything is inside the reflector.

The one in the picture is the 4K LED the 5K does not have "that big plastic thingy on the back".

Correct. Notice that even that one sticks out a bit further than the H4 Halogen. I have one of those and it's a chore getting the lens mounted because the connector hits the headlight switch. I have a much smaller switch that I'm going to install this winter.
