I bled the front brake and it's better than it was before. Then I buttoned up the front end, tightening the axle, then the lower yoke (being sure to bounce it to get everything centered). Then the axle pinch bolt. I hope that's the right sequence.
Of course it was wetsumped, but I kicked it over a few times and the oil came out the breather. Then fired it up, keeping the revs low until the breather line was clear.
This meant a shakedown ride, of course.
It was a bit of a ride but it was completely uneventful. I was completely focused on the riding and a couple times I forgot to blink. Still I wasn't timid out there. And it felt great.
This is under the St. John's Bridge which some of you might remember from some of my riding videos.
I didn't check the front rim to see if it was bent, but there was no vibration or anything from the front wheel even at, ahem, "highway speed".
The riding season will be coming to a close in a while. If we're lucky maybe through October.Sometimes not even that long. We'll see.
I'm looking forward to the winter when I can finish the bike, get the fairing on and paint stuff. Of course with the clipons it probably won't make an ideal daily driver.
