Do any 961 owners, whether in the UK, Europe, US or Canada have any recommendations for small gear bags? I know its not exactly a cruiser but it would be nice to tote some of the basic necessities. Thanks

Couldn't even put a fork bag. Sits too high under the headlight so it can't be opened. Best I was able to do was mount a fork bag in the left side frame. Its a start. I'm going to try a bicycle triangle bag next.

Many Europeans simply use a back pack on their Sport bikes, You don't have to worry about marring the paint either!

Motorcycle backpacks are good for 22 year olds with limber bodies, not so great for us older riders, tho I have tried it. I did not enjoy the twisties with forty pounds on my back!
I have two bikes which fit the sport bike solo seat no luggage category. Strangely enough, both are extremely comfortable and well suited to high daily mileage trips, except for the no luggage problem. For the Triumph 955i Daytona, the plan is to fit a 47 litre Givi top case to the pillion seat. The pillion seat snaps in with a key lock and is attached very securely.
The nice thing about this mounting method vs a top box on an extended rear rack is that the weight is in a good place, not cantilevering weight off the front end.
I suppose this method for top case attachment could work with the dual seat 961?

Norton bags try
Tried to get a look at one ,but apparently the company that made them, presumably under liecence has gone pop. Hope that is not a look into the future.

I'm not asking for much. Just keys a bottle of water, smokes, lighter and a lip balm. Please don't tell me to quite smoking. I get enough of that from the old lady. :?

I agree, I am looking for water, a map or GPS, sun glasses, maybe a tire pressure gage or a couple of tools. Certainly not 40 lbs, I am not going away for the weekend, a back pack works great for this! :D

Hi

The bag in the video looks ok to me just as a shoulder job, if it only says Norton on it I think it is all right.

Maybe this was a bad suggestion but even as a small travel bag I think it's ok, who's going to know what it was intended for anyway. I've got oxford throw over panniers I've had for years and that bag looks every bit as good as them, but I hate backpacks.

The bag at the start( 60- 65sec) or so. As long as it only says Norton!

I'm not into backpacks no matter how little I carry. I want to ride totally unrestricted. The tail bag seems okay for a biposto, but I don't know how well it will shape around that domed tail, and then their is the paint issue. The fork bag on the frame is working ok. Nothing rubbing the legs. I put in on the left because it was leaning a little on the rear master cylinder.

I'm going to try one of these, and if it works fine, kick myself for spending 65 bucks for a fork bag.
